Late Flat Dutch excels for fresh slaws, sauerkraut, cooking, and long-term storage. The firm, dense heads hold up beautifully in all applications. Plant in full sun with well-drained, fertile soil. Space plants 18-24 inches apart in rows 30-36 inches apart to accommodate the large heads. Water consistently and mulch to retain moisture. Harvest when heads are firm and dense, typically when they reach 12 inches in diameter and weigh 10-15 lbs.
