Features showy nodding lavender cup-shaped flowers with shell pink overtones and a creamy white flare at the ends of the stems from late winter to early spring. Its glossy oval compound leaves emerge coppery-bronze in spring, turning green in color with distinctive creamy white veins the rest of the year. The dark red stems can be quite attractive.
Landscape Attributes
An herbaceous evergreen perennial with an upright spreading habit of growth. Its medium texture blends into the garden but can always be balanced by a couple of finer or coarser plants for an effective composition. This is a relatively low maintenance plant and should be cut back in late fall in preparation for winter. Grows in a bushy, upright clump, 18-24" tall and wide. Deer- and vole-resistant.
